
Undiknas University Hosts International Seminar with Edith Cowan University 400+ Participants Explore AI and Design Thinking for Future Adaptability
Denpasar, Bali, April 13, 2026 – Undiknas University successfully held an International Seminar and Guest Lecture titled “Artificial Intelligence and Design Thinking: Future Adaptability – How to Be Ready” with Edith Cowan University. The seminar featured two distinguished speakers from Edith Cowan University, Australia. They were Associate Professor Suku Sukunesan from the School of Business and Law and Professor Mark McMahon from the School of Arts and Humanities. Both shared valuable insights on how Artificial Intelligence (AI), combined with Design Thinking, can serve as a powerful strategy to face global challenges in the digital era.


The event was also attended by several international guests, including Jake Garman, Deputy Vice Chancellor (International) and Vice President Edith Cowan University, Daniel Sprague, International Account Manager (Indonesia, Philippines, Myanmar, and Thailand), Princess Bonifacio, Senior Regional Manager (Indonesia, Philippines, Myanmar, and Thailand), and Sandy Yudhistira, Business Development Manager – Education, Western Australian Government Jakarta Office. The seminar attracted over 400 participants, comprising 300 students from all study programs at Undiknas University who joined onsite and more than 100 international students who participated online. This strong turnout reflects the growing interest in global collaboration and innovative approaches to education.


In addition to students, the seminar was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics, the International Office team, and all Heads of Study Programs at Undiknas University, further highlighting the institution’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and international engagement. The Rector of Undiknas University emphasized the importance of preparing students for the future: “We want our students not only to adapt to change but also to become pioneers in creating innovations that benefit society worldwide”.
