Navigating the Future: Insights from the International Seminar on Accounting and Financial Sustainability in Industry 5.0
On September 18, 2024, the Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Economics and Business (BEM-FEB) at UNDIKNAS held an international seminar at the Dwi Tunggal Auditorium. This year’s theme, “Navigating Accounting and Financial Sustainability: Challenges and Opportunities in the Industrial Era 5.0,” aimed to deepen participants’ understanding of the challenges and opportunities for maintaining accounting and finance sustainability in Industry 5.0. The seminar featured four guest speakers—a UNDIKNAS lecturer, two international experts from Edith Cowan University, Australia and Help University, Malaysia, and a distinguished UNDIKNAS student—along with two moderators who alternated between sessions.
The event was open to UNDIKNAS students and the general public across Indonesia, providing insights into sustainable financial and accounting management within a rapidly changing business environment. Attendees benefited from expert discussions on developing both soft and hard skills essential to the 5.0 era.
The conference began with opening remarks from Komang Sri Widiantari, S.E., M.Si., Vice Dean for Academic Development at FEB UNDIKNAS, representing the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business. The first session included presentations by two esteemed speakers: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lee Teck Heang from Help University and Dr. Rashid Zaman from Edith Cowan University, moderated by Mr. Ida Nyoman Basmantara, S.Pd., M.Pd., M.M.
In the second session, Dr. Gine Das Prena, S.E., M.SI., AK, CA, CSRS, CSRA, CSP, CMA, CFMA, CAPM, CDM, CPA, CERA, an Accounting Lecturer at UNDIKNAS, presented her material, followed by a presentation from Rayhan Wijaya, an accomplished student from UNDIKNAS. This session was moderated by Ms. Ni Putu Ari Krismajayanti, S.M., M.M.
This seminar aimed to contribute meaningfully to the development of students who are not only academically proficient but also well-equipped to address the accounting and financial sustainability challenges of Industry 5.0. The event encouraged young participants to develop innovative business strategy skills and sustainable financial management, preparing them to tackle global challenges and find solutions to the complexities of the digital economy. Additionally, the program aimed to build a solid foundation for future leaders who understand the dynamics of accounting and financial sustainability and are committed to supporting long-term economic stability.
