Bali, August 5-6, 2024 – In a significant step towards expanding its global academic collaborations, Undiknas University recently hosted Professor Alexander Loch from the University of Applied Sciences of Ludwigsburg, Germany. This visit underscores Undiknas’ ongoing commitment to fostering international partnerships and enhancing educational opportunities for its students and faculty.Since 2017, Undiknas has been actively developing partnerships with German institutions. Over the years, numerous German students have interned and participated in short courses at Undiknas, enriching the academic environment with cross-cultural exchanges. Professor Loch’s visit marks a new chapter in this fruitful collaboration, as discussions focused on organizing summer schools and other innovative formats that would bring together Indonesian and German students and researchers.
During his visit, Professor Loch expressed particular interest in exploring collaborative projects with Undiknas scholars working on “megatrends” such as digitalization, urbanization, demographic changes, and climate change. These areas are currently supported by excellent funding opportunities in Germany and are of mutual concern to both Indonesian and German researchers.
The collaboration aims to not only foster academic excellence but also to address global challenges through joint research initiatives and educational programs. Undiknas is optimistic that this partnership will lead to lasting and impactful cooperation between the two institutions. This partnership holds great promise for advancing educational and research opportunities for students and faculty at both universities, and Undiknas looks forward to a strong and enduring collaboration.
