Universitas Pendidikan Nasional Signs MoU and MoA with Long Island University Asia-Pacific Australia and Bali Institute in Organizing Global Social Entrepreneurship Program for Students
Denpasar – Universitas Pendidikan Nasional ( UNDIKNAS ) together with Long Island University (LIU Global) Asia-Pacific Australia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on April 10, 2023. The signing took place in the Theater Room of Universitas Pendidikan Nasional and was facilitated by the Bali Institute.
LIU Global is one of the Universities on Long Island that offers a four-year Global Studies degree program that sends students abroad to Latin America, Europe, Asia, and/or Australasia.
The collaboration between UNDIKNAS and LIU Global aims to be able to produce solutions to current global issues such as poverty, climate change, war, and pandemics. Through the program that will be held later, the participants are expected to be able to generate imaginative, critical thinking, and learn how to work together across cultures.
The event was attended by the Rector of UNDIKNAS Prof. Dr. Ir. Nyoman Sri Subawa, S.T., S.Sos., M.M., IPM., ASEAN.Eng., Asia-Pacific Australia Center Director, Faculty & Advisor at LIU Global, Dr. Soenke Biermann, Adjunct Faculty and Advisor at LIU Global, Nigel Hayes, Student Services & Administrative Program Coordinator at LIU Global, Jessica O’Rourke, and Operation Manager of Bali Institute, Evita Girsang. Also present at the agenda for signing the MoU and MoA Head of International Office UNDIKNAS, Ida Nyoman Basmantra S.Pd., M.Pd., Deputy Vice-Rector for Partnership and Entrepreneurship, I Gusti Ngurah Putu Dharmayasa, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., and students from Universitas Pendidikan Nasional and LIU Global.
The event was opened by the Bali Institute, which was then followed by remarks from LIU Global and the Rector of Universitas Pendidikan Nasional. The next agenda is the signing ceremony together with LIU Global and the Bali Institute followed by the handing over of certificates and souvenirs from each party. The event then ended with a campus tour attended by LIU Global students accompanied by students from UNDIKNAS International Undergraduate Program (IUP).
In his remarks, Dr. Soenke Biermann LIU Global expressed his admiration for Universitas Pendidikan Nasional as a leading university in the field of international and digital business in Bali. It is hoped that through this program, Universitas Pendidikan Nasional can collaborate with LIU Global in its social entrepreneurship programs and help solve various global problems that exist in society. This program is also expected to provide participants with experience, knowledge, and new friends.
In line with this, the Rector of Universitas Pendidikan Nasional, Professor Sri Subawa, stated that the Universitas Pendidikan Nasional always responds to economic and educational developments to improve economic and learning standards for students. Through this collaboration with LIU Global and Bali Institute, he hopes to be able to develop social entrepreneurship in Bali and provide valuable experience and knowledge for participants, especially in terms of entrepreneurship.
The collaboration is a new step for Universitas Pendidikan Nasional in developing social entrepreneurship in Bali and creating new opportunities for participants from both LIU Global and Undiknas University.
