Undiknas University and Australian Consulate General Bali Forge Bilateral Ties through Mutual Arrangement and General Lecture
Denpasar, 17th April 2024 – Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (UNDIKNAS) celebrated a significant achievement with the formalization of a Mutual Arrangement and the hosting of a General Lecture featuring the Australian Consulate-General in Bali. The arrangement signing ceremony was initiated by Rector of Undiknas University, Prof. Dr. Ir. Nyoman Sri Subawa, S.T., S.Sos., M.M., IPM., ASEAN. Eng., and Ms. Jo Stevens as Australia’s new Consul-General in Bali, West Nusa Tenggara and East Nusa Tenggara. This momentous event took place at the Undiknas Library, specifically at the #AussieBangetCorner.
Following the Mutual Arrangement signing, a General Lecture was conducted exclusively for International Undergraduate Program students at the Dwi Tunggal Auditorium Undiknas. Ms. Jo Stevens, the first speaker, delivered an insightful presentation on the historical context and potential for strategic cooperation between Australia and Indonesia. Additionally, she shed light on various captivating facets encompassing culture, environment, innovation, excellence, and daily life in Australia.
After Ms. Jo Stevens’ presentation, the next segment was led by Ms. Amelia Ekkel, who served as the second speaker. She provided valuable insights into the Australia Awards Scholarship, which offers significant opportunities for students pursuing master’s, and doctoral degrees in Australia. Additionally, Ms. Ekkel discussed the importance of studying in Australia and shared strategies for successfully obtaining an Australia Awards scholarship. Following her presentation, participants engaged in a Q&A session with the speakers moderated by the MC. The event concluded with all students participating in a quiz activity facilitated by Ms. Amelia Ekkel.
The agreement established through this Mutual Arrangement is expected to be able to strengthen bilateral relations between Undiknas University and the Australian Consulate-General. Additionally, the General Lecture activities are also expected to be able to expand students’ insight and understanding of life in Australia and inspire each student to pursue further studies at Australian campuses.
