UNDIKNAS Strengthens Global Collaboration through Social Enterprise and Leadership Workshop with LIU Global
Denpasar, Bali, May 17, 2026 – Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (UNDIKNAS), through its International Office, successfully organized a five-day international workshop in collaboration with LIU Global (Long Island University Global) from 17–21 May 2026. The program brought together students from both institutions in an experiential learning environment designed to foster leadership, intercultural understanding, social entrepreneurship, and collaborative problem-solving. The workshop began with team-building activities, leadership development sessions, and personal skills assessments before participants identified key social issues affecting local and global communities, including gender inequality, education disparities, waste management, and overtourism in Bali.
Throughout the workshop, participants applied research-based approaches such as the 5 Whys methodology and the Theory of Change framework to investigate the root causes of their selected issues and develop innovative Social Enterprise (SE) solutions. Working in multicultural teams, students conducted stakeholder analysis, designed sustainable business models, and prepared implementation strategies that integrated social, environmental, and economic values. To complement the classroom sessions, participants visited several inspiring social enterprises in Bali, including Handep, Magi Farm, and Made Tea, where they gained first-hand insights into community empowerment, circular economy practices, sustainable business innovation, and socially responsible entrepreneurship.
On the final day, each team presented its Social Enterprise proposal, showcasing comprehensive business plans, impact indicators, financial strategies, and long-term sustainability roadmaps inspired by the principles of the Triple Bottom Line and the Balinese philosophy of Tri Hita Karana. The presentations demonstrated the participants’ ability to transform research findings into practical and innovative solutions capable of addressing real-world social challenges while creating sustainable value for communities. Through this collaboration, UNDIKNAS reaffirmed its commitment to advancing internationalization by providing students with meaningful global learning experiences that combine academic knowledge with practical engagement. The partnership with LIU Global not only strengthened cross-cultural collaboration and international networking but also equipped participants with leadership, research, and entrepreneurial competencies essential for becoming globally competitive graduates and future changemakers.
