
International Seminar at Undiknas University Explores AI in Research and Tourism
Denpasar, Bali, August 28, 2025 – Undiknas University recently hosted a prestigious international seminar at the Dwi Tunggal Auditorium, spotlighting the theme “Implementation of AI in Research and Tourism.” The event brought together academic leaders, alumni, and students to explore the transformative role of artificial intelligence across disciplines. The seminar featured distinguished speakers, including Dr. Arnel T. Sicat, Vice President of Academic Affairs at The University of the Assumption, Philippines. Dr. Sicat shared insights on integrating AI into academic research and its potential to revolutionize data analysis and innovation in higher education.


Joining him was Ir. Ngakan Nyoman Kutha Krisnawijaya, S.Kom., M.Kom., Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Tourism at Undiknas University, who emphasized AI’s growing influence in enhancing tourist experiences, destination management, and sustainable travel practices. Also contributing to the discussion were Gusi Ayu Tantyana Wira Devi, S.Kom., an accomplished alumna of Undiknas University’s Information Technology program, and Rangga Aditya Hanggadwipa, a current student from the Tourism Destination program. Both speakers offered fresh perspectives on how AI is shaping the future of tourism from academic and practical viewpoints.


The seminar was moderated by Ni Kadek Winda, S.S., M.Sc., and attended by students from a diverse range of study programs, including Tourism Destination, Digital Business, Management, Information Technology, Environmental Engineering, Communication Studies, Law, and Psychology. Beyond its academic significance, the event marked the launch of a collaborative initiative between Undiknas University and The University of the Assumption. This partnership aims to foster joint efforts in academic development, research projects, and student mobility programs.
