Closing Ceremony and Project Presentations: A Celebration of Global Collaboration at Bali Beyond Borders 2024
Denpasar, 12th November 2024 – On the final day of the Bali Beyond Borders 2024 program, students had the opportunity to meet with the Rector of Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (UNDIKNAS), Prof. Dr. Ir. Nyoman Sri Subawa S.T., S.Sos., M.M., IPM., ASEAN Eng, during a certificate presentation ceremony to acknowledge their participation in the program. Prof. Sri Subawa expressed deep appreciation for the dedication and enthusiasm displayed by the participants throughout the program, and hoped that the experiences gained during their time in Bali would have a positive impact on their personal growth moving forward.
After the certificate ceremony, the students proceeded with the presentation of their projects, which they had developed based on the knowledge and insights they gained from day one to the final day of the program. This presentation session, led by Mr. Ida Nyoman Basmantra, Head of the International Office, took place in front of the faculty members. The students shared their research findings and insights on topics ranging from Balinese culture, ASEAN business, sustainability, to Indonesian politics, showcasing the integration of theory and practical experience they had acquired throughout the program.
Following the academic activities, the program continued with a farewell event held at Bendega Restaurant, where students, faculty, and UNDIKNAS staff gathered to celebrate the success and achievements of the program. This event served as a platform for sharing reflections and experiences, while also strengthening the bonds among participants from various countries. To conclude the program, the participants were taken on a visit to Museum Bajra Sandhi in Denpasar, a monument symbolizing the struggle of the Balinese people. The museum, which houses a wealth of historical and cultural information, invited participants to learn more about the cultural heritage of Bali and to appreciate the long journey the Balinese people have taken to preserve their identity and sovereignty.
This program aligns closely with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Through learning that involved diverse international perspectives and the strengthening of global networks, participants not only enriched their academic knowledge but also developed cross-cultural collaboration skills essential for tackling global challenges. The opportunity to share ideas and experiences during the project presentations allowed students to apply their learning in a practical context, which will be valuable for their future careers. Moreover, the program fostered mutually beneficial partnerships between universities and countries, aligning with the goal of building global collaborations to achieve inclusive and sustainable development.
