Visit of the Australian Public Diplomacy Consul to Undiknas
Denpasar, Bali, August 8, 2025 – Undiknas had the honor of welcoming Mr. Lachlan Norton, the newly appointed Public Diplomacy Consul from the Australian Consulate-General in Bali, on Friday, August 8, 2025. The visit took place at the International Office of Undiknas, where Mr. Norton and his delegation were warmly greeted by Ida Nyoman Basmantra, S.Pd., M.Pd., Head of the International Office, along with the team.

The purpose of the visit was to strengthen the partnership between Undiknas and the Australian Consulate-General, and to explore future opportunities for collaboration. During his time at Undiknas, Mr. Norton visited the AUSSIEBANGET Corner (ABC), a facility inaugurated in 2022 by Australia’s Minister for Early Childhood Education and Youth, Dr. Anne Aly MP, in collaboration with the Rector of Undiknas. The ABC serves as a resource center designed to introduce students to Australian education and culture, providing access to materials and information that support academic exchange and cultural understanding. Mr. Norton learned about the corner’s ongoing initiatives and engaged in discussions with the International Office team.

Key areas of discussion included the development of student exchange programs and potential collaborations under the New Colombo Plan, a flagship initiative of the Australian Government that promotes academic and cultural exchange within the Indo-Pacific region. This visit represents a meaningful step forward in reinforcing academic and diplomatic relations, with ABC continuing to serve as a hub for promoting Australian culture and education in Bali.
