International Educational Trip – Thailand: A Perfect Blend of Learning and Exploration
Bangkok, Thailand – Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (UNDIKNAS) is thrilled to share the success of its International Educational Trip to Thailand, a three-day journey from December 7th to December 10th, 2024. This program seamlessly combined academic enrichment, cultural immersion, and experiential learning, providing participants with an unforgettable experience in one of Southeast Asia’s most vibrant countries.
The adventure began with a journey to Pattaya, with a fascinating stop at Big Bee Garden along the way. Participants explored Thailand’s innovative beekeeping industry, discovering sustainable practices and diverse products like honey vinegar, propolis, and honey-infused coffee. This engaging visit highlighted the importance of biodiversity and how traditional practices can evolve to meet modern needs.
In Pattaya, the group visited the stunning Nong Nooch Tropical Garden, where they were captivated by traditional dance performances and an enchanting elephant parade. A sweet treat awaited them at the Great and Grand Sweet Destination, where they explored Thailand’s unique confectionery culture. The day concluded with a visit to the breathtaking Laser Buddha, a landmark offering panoramic views of Pattaya and leaving a lasting impression on the participants.
Day two brought a shift to Bangkok and a major academic highlight at the prestigious Mahidol University. Here, participants attended an inspiring lecture by Prof. Dr. Chettiyappan Visvanathan from the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering. His session, “Smart Solid Waste Management Options to Create Smart Cities,” provided invaluable insights into sustainable urban development and the role of technology in building greener, smarter cities.
The cultural exploration continued with a visit to the iconic Wat Arun temple, a masterpiece of Thai architecture and spirituality. Participants also visited Gems Gallery, where they learned about the intricate art of jewellery-making. The day ended at ICONSIAM, a luxurious shopping and cultural complex that blends modern sophistication with traditional Thai charm, followed by a lively evening at Asiatique, a bustling riverside market filled with local Flavors, crafts, and entertainment.
The final day focused on exploring Bangkok’s vibrant retail hubs, including Platinum Shopping Mall and MBK Shopping Mall. These visits offered participants a firsthand look at the city’s dynamic consumer culture, providing insights into economic trends and shopping habits in Thailand.
