Engineering and Informatics Faculty Undiknas University Officially Launches GenCity 2025, Featuring Curtin University Expert on Green Innovation
Denpasar, Bali, December 15, 2025 – The Faculty of Engineering and Informatics (FTI) Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas) has once again demonstrated its steadfast commitment to the development of sustainable science and technology by successfully hosting an International Seminar titled “Advancing Green Innovation for a Smarter World: Inspiration for Everyone, Insight for You.” Held with great enthusiasm, this event served not only as a forum for scientific discussion but also as a pivotal moment marking the official opening and launch of the prestigious GenCity 2025 event series. As the initiator, FTI Undiknas designed this seminar to provide deep insights into how the integration of smart technology and eco-friendly innovation can shape a better future for civilization.

This international seminar served as the gateway to GenCity 2025, an international conference initiated by Undiknas to gather thinkers, researchers, and presenters from around the globe. GenCity 2025 is designed as a global collaborative platform where fresh ideas and cutting-edge research are disseminated to address contemporary challenges. By hosting this seminar as the launch event, Undiknas affirms its position as a higher education institution ready to facilitate cross-border knowledge exchange, while simultaneously strengthening international academic networks across various engineering and informatics disciplines. To enrich the participants’ perspectives, the seminar featured two prominent speakers with profound expertise in their respective fields. The first speaker was Prof. Yue Rong from Curtin University, Australia, who presented global insights on green technology trends on the international stage. This session was complemented by a presentation from Undiknas’s own distinguished academic and practitioner, Ir. Ngakan Nyoman Kutha Krisnawijaya S.Kom., M.Kom., Ph.D. The collaboration of thought between the international perspective from Australia and deep local expertise created an engaging dialectic, offering a comprehensive overview of the challenges and opportunities in creating innovations that are not only advanced but also ecologically sustainable.

Through the theme “Inspiration for Everyone, Insight for You,” the event is expected to inject a new spirit of creativity into the lecturers, students, and researchers in attendance. The seminar aims to go beyond theoretical discussion, acting as a catalyst for the birth of applied research that supports the Smart World concept. With the successful launch of GenCity 2025 through this seminar, FTI Undiknas is optimistic that the upcoming series of international conferences will yield tangible contributions to the global community, reinforcing the role of academics in safeguarding the planet through responsible technological innovation.
