Denpasar, Bali, January 7, 2025 – The third day of Undiknas University’s Bali Beyond Borders program was a blend of academic learning, real-world business insights, and cultural exploration. The international cohort of participants, continued their journey of intellectual discovery while delving deeper into the local culture and business landscape of Bali. The day’s academic sessions kicked off with a class on Environmental Sustainability and Business in ASEAN. With climate change and environmental preservation being key global issues, this session focused on how businesses in Southeast Asia, particularly in ASEAN, are navigating the challenges of sustainability. The class examined best practices for integrating eco-friendly initiatives into business strategies and how organizations can balance profitability with environmental responsibility. Participants gained valuable perspectives on green business practices, from renewable energy adoption to sustainable sourcing, all while considering the diverse environmental challenges faced by countries in the region.
Following this, the group shifted to a session on the Political Dynamics of Indonesia. The class also explored the role of Indonesia in regional and global geopolitics, emphasizing its influence within ASEAN and beyond. For the international participants, the session offered crucial context to understanding how political forces shape the economy and society in one of Southeast Asia’s largest and most dynamic countries.
After the academic sessions, the program took a more hands-on approach with visits to two distinctive Balinese businesses that embody the region’s entrepreneurial spirit. The first visit was to Kutus Kutus, a popular Balinese wellness company renowned for its line of natural health and beauty products. Participants were given an inside look at how Kutus Kutus blends traditional Balinese healing practices with modern business techniques. The visit included a tour of their production facility, where participants learned about the local sourcing of ingredients, the importance of maintaining sustainability in the beauty industry, and how the company markets its products to both local and international audiences.
