Final Day of Bali Beyond Borders Program: Group Presentations, Reflections, and Cultural Farewell
Denpasar, Bali, January 9, 2025 – The Bali Beyond Borders program, hosted by Undiknas University, came to a successful and memorable conclusion on January 9, 2025, with the final day marked by group project presentations, a heartfelt closing ceremony, and a visit to one of Bali’s iconic souvenir destinations. After 10 days of intensive learning, cultural immersion, and personal growth, the participants celebrated the culmination of their journey in Bali. The day began with the much-anticipated Group Project Presentations. Over the course of the program, participants had been working on collaborative projects focused on real-world business challenges in Southeast Asia. Drawing on the knowledge gained from their classes on topics like ASEAN business practices, environmental sustainability, and human resource management, each group presented their findings and proposed solutions in front of their peers, faculty, and invited guests.
The presentations covered a wide array of subjects, from developing sustainable business strategies for SMEs in the ASEAN market to designing innovative recruitment strategies tailored to the unique cultural and economic landscape of Southeast Asia. Each group demonstrated not only a deep understanding of the region’s business environment but also showcased their ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a practical context. The collaborative nature of the project highlighted the diverse perspectives of the international participants, creating an enriching exchange of ideas and experiences. It was clear that the program had equipped participants with valuable tools for future business endeavors, fostering global collaboration and leadership skills.
Following the presentations, the group gathered for a Closing Ceremony, where participants reflected on their transformative journey in Bali. Undiknas University faculty members and team expressed their pride in the participants’ growth over the past days, acknowledging their hard work, enthusiasm, and the strong bonds they had formed with each other. The ceremony also featured the distribution of certificates and academic transcripts, symbolizing the successful completion of the program and the connections made throughout. For the international participants, the closing ceremony was a moment of gratitude—both for the knowledge gained and for the opportunity to engage with a rich and vibrant culture. Many shared how the program had opened their eyes to new possibilities, broadened their horizons, and strengthened their commitment to fostering international partnerships in their future careers.
After the formalities of the closing ceremony, participants wrapped up their program with a visit to Krisna Oleh-Oleh Bali, a popular souvenir market located in Denpasar. Known for offering a wide range of traditional Balinese handicrafts, clothing, spices, and unique local products, Krisna is the perfect place to pick up souvenirs and gifts as a reminder of their time in Bali. As participants explored the bustling aisles of Krisna, they were able to purchase traditional Balinese crafts such as hand-carved wood items, batik textiles, and iconic food products like sambal and kopi luwak. This final cultural outing gave participants a chance to reflect on their experiences and take home a piece of Bali’s essence, from the island’s rich traditions to the contemporary Balinese art and craftsmanship they had encountered during their stay.
As the Bali Beyond Borders program came to a close, participants expressed how much they had learned and how profoundly the experience had impacted them—both personally and professionally. Beyond the academic modules and business insights, the program had fostered global friendships, enhanced intercultural understanding, and provided practical tools for navigating the complex business world. As Undiknas University wraps up this year’s program, it remains committed to providing an enriching, international learning environment that prepares participants to thrive in a globalized world.
